How to wear activewear beyond the gym
Build an everyday outfit around a sports set with a shirt, an easy jacket and a few simple fit checks. A practical take on athleisure.
Start with an open shirt
Layer a roomy shirt over a sports bra and shorts set such as BALANCE, then add trainers. The looser shirt balances the closer-fitting pieces and lets you adjust the coverage. If you would rather cover your torso, wear a T-shirt instead and keep the shorts as the starting point. The outfit should suit your day, not a fixed formula.
Let your plans choose the jacket
For a walk or a coffee, try a denim jacket and a soft bag. A straight-cut coat gives a different finish when the weather cools, though you may also want longer bottoms. Two or three colours make the pieces easy to combine. There is no need for every accessory to match the sports set.
Check it while moving
Raise your arms, sit down and walk a few steps. The top should stay where you want it and the waistband should feel comfortable. Check the fabric in daylight, too. These are everyday styling suggestions; if you need clothing for a particular sport, check the item's stated support and intended use before choosing.
