How to style an oversized T-shirt
Three outfit ideas for an oversized T-shirt: easy denim, tailored trousers and skirts, with practical tips on fit and proportions.
Keep denim relaxed
Straight-leg jeans give a roomy tee space to stand out. If both pieces are wide, tuck a small section at the front to bring the waist back into view. The white DAILY long-sleeve T-shirt also works untucked over loose jeans, as shown here. Finish with simple trainers for an easy everyday outfit.
Add a tailored edge
Pair a plain oversized tee with straight-cut trousers and loafers. A blazer adds another layer, provided there is room through its sleeves for the fabric underneath. Tucking just the front keeps the outline relaxed and avoids bunching a long hem all the way around the waistband.
Let the skirt shape show
With a mini or a straight skirt, a small front tuck makes the cut of the skirt visible. Leave the tee loose when you want a more laid-back shape. Check the garment’s width and length against a favourite top before ordering: an oversized cut does not automatically mean you need to size up.
